Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy Treatment

What is Manual Therapy?

Manual Therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. Therapists use their hands to apply pressure to muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain caused by spasms, tension, and/or joint dysfunction.

Manual therapy helps to improve soft tissue mobilization, increase range of motion, and decrease muscle spasms. It also induces relaxation, helps control pain, and reduces swelling.

Certified Techniques

Our Rising Tide physical therapists are trained in a variety of manual therapy techniques that assist with the healing process.

To find out if manual therapy can help in your rehabilitation and treatment program, schedule an appointment today.
